35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide 2oz  (H₂O₂) is a clear, colorless, odorless liquid. It’s a combination of hydrogen and oxygen. One dilution of hydrogen peroxide is 35 percent H₂O₂ and 65 percent water. Food producers use 35 percent H₂O₂ for a variety of purposes, including processing cheese and bleaching wheat flour. It’s also used to kill microorganisms in food packaging materials or sterilize any contaminates . Don’t be misled by Food Grade options that say 35% but in small print say 34% or 34.5% those are commercial grade peroxide, not food grade!

Regulations vary, but low concentrations, such as 5%, are widely available and legal to buy for medical use. Most over-the-counter peroxide solutions are not suitable for ingestion. Higher concentrations may be considered hazardous and typically are accompanied by a safety data sheet (SDS). In high concentrations, hydrogen peroxide is an aggressive oxidizer and will corrode many materials, including human skin. In the presence of a reducing agent, high concentrations of H₂O₂ will react violently.^[93] While concentrations up to 35% produce only “white” oxygen bubbles in the skin (and some biting pain) that disappear with the blood within 30–45 minutes, concentrations of 98% dissolve paper. However concentrations as low as 3% can be dangerous for the eye because of oxygen evolution within the eye.^[94]
